June 20th - June 25th

Here are the selections for June 20th - June 25th:

Monday, June 20th
There is quite a selection Monday and they don't necessarily go together, but I've tried to accommodate families with younger kids and families with older, fewer or no children. Of course, comfort food is comfort food and there's no age limit, so order whatever your heart desires!

Wild Mushroom Soup -- This is a Barefoot Contessa based recipe. I love her! As odd as this sounds, I hate mushrooms. I will pick them out of anything; however, I love this soup! It's made with mushroom stock from four types of mushrooms and assorted veggies. The stock is added to the slice mushroom tops and then pureed (still some mushroom chunks) to ultimate goodness. Topped with Parmesan Cheese. I love, love, love this soup. Please join me in the wonderfulness :o) $7 per quart

Macaroni & Cheese -- Ultimate comfort food. Little elbow macaroni's surrounded in a homemade cheese sauce with two different cheeses. It's topped with homemade bread crumbs. All you have to do it bake. 8 x 6 for $8, 9 x 13 $15

Breadsticks -- I'm back into the bread making groove. The breadsticks will have Parmesan cheese and a hint of garlic. 6 for $3

Lemon Bars -- This recipe is from the Lion House originally. A tender shortbread crust with a moist lemon custard. 1 dozen (2" x 3" minimum) for $7

Wednesday, June 22nd

Chicken Oriental Pasta Salad -- This recipe is based on that wonderful Carmella's restaurant in Alpine years ago. Pasta noodles, green onions, Mandarin oranges, and tender chicken chunks with a creamy oriental dressing. The salad is crowned with toasted sesame seeds. When my grand daughter was blessed a couple months go I served five soups and five salads and various desserts. This was by far the most commented and complimented item, yes, even more than my beloved red velvet cake. 1 Quart $7

Breadsticks -- Buttered breadsticks. Wonderful, homemade and happy to come to your home! 6 for $3

Thursday, June 23rd

Teriyaki Chicken -- Tender chicken slow cooked in a tangy teriyaki sauce. Chicken rice bowls for everyone! 1/2 Quart $8; 1 Quart $14

Rice -- White (or brown on request :o) simmered to perfection. 1/2 Quart $3; 1 Quart $4

Strawberry Delight -- I taught 25 teenagers Sunday School years ago. This was one of their very favorite things for me to make. They called it heavenly dessert because it wouldn't be heaven without it :) Angel food cake pieces layered with fresh strawberries in a strawberry glaze. Fresh whipped cream is the next layer, then it is layered all over again. See what heaven is like! 1 Quart $8
